Terms of Service and Refund Policy

Our service

SitterDash is a babysitter matching service for families in the greater Lakewood, New Jersey area, including Lakewood, Howell, Jackson and Toms River. When you request a sitter by phone, we contact babysitters who have been reviewed and approved by our office and connect you with the first available sitter. Babysitters are independent and are not employees of SitterDash. You agree the babysitting arrangement, including the hourly rate and payment, directly with the sitter.

Finder's fee

  • We charge a flat finder's fee per booking, in US dollars: $10 introductory launch rate $4.99.
  • The fee is charged to the card you provided, only when a sitter is confirmed for your job.
  • If we cannot find a sitter, you are not charged.
  • The finder's fee does not include the babysitter's pay. You pay your sitter directly.

Cancellations and refunds

  • Cancel at least 2 hours before the job's start time: full refund of the finder's fee.
  • Cancel less than 2 hours before the start time, or not be available when the sitter arrives: the finder's fee is not refunded.
  • If your sitter does not show up and we cannot send a replacement, we refund the finder's fee in full.
  • To cancel, call (732) 936-7696 and press 4 at the main menu, or press 0 to reach our office.
  • Refunds go back to the original card, usually within 5 to 10 business days.

Payment security

Card details are entered on your phone keypad and are processed and stored by our payment provider, Stripe. SitterDash never receives or keeps your full card number.

Text messaging terms (SMS)

Program name: SitterDash Booking Texts.

What you'll receive: text messages to set up your family profile, book a babysitter, and get booking confirmations and updates about your sitter request. Babysitters receive the details of jobs they accept, and changes to those jobs. We never send marketing texts.

How you sign up: families text the keyword BOOK to (732) 936-7696, or check the optional box "Text me about my booking" on the booking form at sitter-dash.com. Babysitters text the keyword JOBS to (732) 936-7696, or check the optional box "Text me about my jobs" on the sign-up form at sitter-dash.com/join. Anyone can also sign up with their mobile number and the consent box at sitter-dash.com/texts. You can also sign up on a call to (732) 936-7696: the call reads you these terms (texts about your bookings or jobs only, never marketing; message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help) and you press 1 to agree, or 2 to skip. Skipping changes nothing about your booking. We keep a record of the date, time and number of every sign-up by phone. The boxes are never checked for you. After you sign up we text you a confirmation. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.

  • Text STOP at any time to cancel. You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and no more texts after that. Text START to join again.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Phone calls

When you book with us or sign up as a sitter, you agree that SitterDash may call the number you give us about your bookings or jobs, including automated calls with a recorded or computer voice: for example, job offers to sitters, sitter confirmations to families, review calls after a job, and log-in codes. We do not make marketing calls. Agreeing to calls is needed to use the service, because that is how we book sitters. To stop our calls at any time, call us at (732) 936-7696 and press 0 for our office. Sitters can also mark themselves unavailable on the sitter line. Calls may be recorded so we get your details right and for quality and safety. See our privacy policy for how we use your information.

Responsibility

We review babysitters before they can receive job offers, but parents remain responsible for supervising arrangements for their children, sharing accurate care, allergy and medical information, and deciding whether a sitter is suitable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SitterDash' liability for any booking is limited to the finder's fee paid for that booking.
